ICON Nutrition will be holding it’s first Calisthenics Championships on Sunday, October 30th at CROWNE PLAZA RESORT, Colchester & have linked up with Recession Proof Body & Pnp Fitness who will be hosting / judging on the day …

Competition:

ICON #strendurance will be a unique Calisthenics competition in which athletes will compete in 4 different weight classes in both STRENGTH and ENDURANCE training!

* under 70kg (lightweight)
* 70kg – 76kg (welterweight)
* 77kg – 83kg (middleweight)
* 84kg – 90kg (heavyweight)

Only 10 athletes will compete in each weight class

Diciplines:

1) muscle ups (bodyweight) & press ups (weighted / 20kg)

competitors will start by performing maximum repetitions muscle ups with strict form & pause at bottom position … once maximum reps have been reached, there will be a 1 minute rest period where the competitor must strap on a 20kg Bulldog Gear weighted vest … when the 1 minute rest period is over, the competitor must then perform maximum repetitions press ups / dead stop form with the vest strapped to the body

* 3 points will be awarded for each muscle up repetition & 1 point will be awarded for each press up repetition

2) pull ups (32kg & 16kg)

competitors will start by performing maximum repetitions pull ups / dead stop form with 32kg kettle bell … once maximum reps have been reached, there will be a 1 minute rest period where the competitor must swap the 32kg kettle bell for a 16kg kettle bell … when the 1 minute rest period is over, the competitor must then perform maximum repetitions pull ups / dead stop form with 16kg kettle bell

* 3 points will be awarded for each pull up repetition with 32kg kettle bell & 1 point will be awarded for each pull up repetition with 16kg kettle bell

3) dips (48kg & 24kg)

competitors will start by performing maximum repetitions dips / dead stop form with 48kg kettle bell … once maximum reps have been reached, there will be a 1 minute rest period where the competitor must swap the 48kg kettle bell for a 24kg kettle bell … when the 1 minute rest period is over, the competitor must then perform maximum repetitions dips / dead stop form with 24kg kettle bell

* 3 points will be awarded for each dip repetition with 48kg kettle bell & 1 point will be awarded for each dip repetition with 24kg kettle bell

4) goblet squats (52kg & 36kg)

competitors will start by performing maximum repetitions goblet squats / dead stop form with 32kg kettle bell & 20kg Bulldog Gear weighted vest … once maximum reps have been reached, there will be a 1 minute rest period where the competitor must swap the 32kg kettle bell for a 16kg kettle bell … when the 1 minute rest period is over, the competitor must then perform maximum repetitions goblet squats / dead stop form with 16kg kettle bell & 20kg weighted vest

* 3 points will be awarded for each goblet squat repetition with 32kg kettle bell & 20kg weighted vest & 1 point will be awarded for each goblet squat repetition with 16kg kettle bell & 20kg weighted vest

*the top 3 athletes in each discipline will gain extra points:

1 point for 3rd place
2 points for 2nd place
3 points for 1st place

*the athlete who accumulates the most points after ALL 4 disciplines will be the overall winner in each of the 4 weight classes
