Nach meiner Wahrnehmung besitzt die Bewegungsinsel am Außenmühlenteich eher einen Treffpunkt-, denn einen Sportcharakter, was gleichbedeutend ist mit vielen sich dort aufhaltenden Leuten inklusive Ghettoblaster, sowie Tag und Nacht daran vorbeiziehenden Massen an Spaziergängern, Joggern, Radfahrern plus freilaufenden Hunden. Ob sich das nach dem idealen Ort für das eigene Outdoor Training anhört, mag jeder für sich selbst entscheiden, ich bin dann aber mal weg. Doch davon einmal abgesehen sind die Hamburger Bewegungsinseln generell stets solide mit Trainingsgeräten ausgestattet und besitzen auch einen angenehmen Bodenbelag. An der Außenmühle sind es zwei Bauchmuskelbänke, zwei Klimmzugstangen (eine davon Plus), sowie Parallel Barren. Alles in hervorragendem Zustand und auch landschaftlich schön gelegen. Die nächste Bushaltestelle und StadtRad Station ist 100 Meter, die nächste öffentliche Toilette 200 Meter entfernt.
